This is a beautiful story, with twists and turns. I fell in love with the characters, who were completely believable.
Finally . . . a delightfully different Amish novel! Not boring, not trite, not the same ole storyline. If you’ve been turned off from reading Amish novels, give this one a try! It starts a little slow, but give it a chance.
Kathleen Fuller's latest book is a gem. Her character's are real folks, not saints or two dimensional cutouts. She opens a door and invites the reader into their slower-paced world. In any genre, Fuller would be an author worth reading.
What a wonderful story. First time reading this author but so very glad I did. Loved the story even though the characters where so very stubborn. Recommend to all who love a good love story.
This story is amazing. The both seem to make many assumptions about how other people see them. These assumptions lead to make wrong actions. The amazing part is how they were able work it out for good. I loved the characters.
This story is delightful. I enjoyed each moment reading about each character. Their backgrounds that lead them to where they are and where they want to be. There struggles are real. Can't wait for the next one.
I have read several of these books by the same author. They all move very slowly. Also, they drop some important things and never return to them again. For instance, in the first book I read the Amish leader disappeared and it was never followed through in any of the books that followed. Was he killed in the shack as it tumbled, or did he travel to another town? I'll never know. Now this one features the mean aunt who disliked the Phoebe's son because he was conceived out of wedlock. Then half-way through the book after Phoebe moves out of the aunt's house is never mentioned again. Did she die, ask for forgiveness, continue to hate Phoebe? I'll never know.
